It is light but it is powerful! I chose V12 over V15 for two reasons. 1) I dislike the fact that I need to hold down the handle while vacuuming, as is the case with most cordless Dysons. I actually went to a Best Buy to try out all of them, and an associate there told me V12 is the only model at the moment with a single on/off switch. 2) Lightweight. True, it is not going to last as long as the V15 because you are compromising the battery for the light weight, but to me it is a trade off I am willing to have. This weight for me is just right, and because it is so powerful, I can vacuum my whole house in 30 minutes. I will preface by saying I have two Roombas, two cats, a partner, and no children. For a bigger house, or a house with more people, I am not sure if 30 minutes of battery life is enough. If you want to buy a newer model-V12 vs. V15, I recommend holding these vacuums and getting a feel for yourself to see which one is right for you. So far, I've been very happy with my purchase. It picks up cat hair effectively, and my carpet now looks navy blue again after looking grey for two years. I've tried out most of the different parts, and vacuumed my car with it too. I think if you order on Dyson, the major part will look golden instead of silver. I have learned to accept it, but didn't like it initially. This is a minor point for a well-functioning machine, though. Don't be deterred by the lack of reviews on Dyson. When I ordered mine, there were maybe 3 or 4 reviews. Look how great it turns out. I actually vacuum in between Zoom meetings now because it is cathartic and quick.
